§ 01 · The rhythm
The general membership meeting is the third Friday of the month at 7:30 p.m. — every month except August. Meetings alternate between the Philadelphia hall on Spring Garden Street and the Upper Marlboro hall in Maryland so members across the jurisdiction can make it. Doors open at 6:45.

§ 03 · Training calendar
Ongoing UBC training at the EAS Carpenters Technical College in Hammonton and DC-area schools. Register through the training center or ask your rep at the next hall meeting.
Working at heights, sea survival, first aid, manual handling. Required for offshore wind work. Runs quarterly at Hammonton.
D1.1 stick, MIG, flux-core. Weld testing every Wednesday by appointment. Call 609·567·5675.
AWS D3.6 wet weld certification. Prerequisite: journeyman diver + qualifying dry weld cert.
NCCCO rigger 1 & 2 + signal-person certification. Renewal cycles align with the OSHA five-year requirement.
The Local 474 Commercial Dive Center runs progression training — surface-supplied, mixed-gas, saturation. Ask your rep about upcoming cohorts.
Runs monthly across the jurisdiction. Required for foremen and steward roles.

Apprentice Info Session
Recruitment cycle open house at the EAS Carpenters Technical College. Prospective apprentices, guardians, guidance counselors welcome. Register on the apprenticeship page.
Summer
Local 474 Family Picnic
Members, retirees, families. Watch the news page and the hall bulletin for date + location. Call the hall for RSVP details.
September
Dooley Scholarship Awards
The Michael J. Dooley Scholarship winners are announced at the September meeting. Applications open the previous fall — see the resources page.
October
Retirees Recognition
Annual recognition dinner for members retiring that year, held around the October general meeting in Philadelphia.
December
Holiday Food Drive
Local 474 members and families run the annual food drive. Drop-off at both halls through December. Anyone can contribute.

Held per UBC bylaws. Nominations at the summer meeting; election at the fall meeting. Watch the news page for the exact schedule.
